These specifications are provided as a guide. The appropriate truck depends on the shipment’s dimensions, weight, loading requirements and destination.

Can Y2K transport oversized and overlength freight?

Yes. Y2K can transport oversized, overlength, irregularly shaped and difficult-to-load freight. Side, rear and top-loading access is available depending on the selected equipment.

Provide the exact shipment dimensions, weight and route information so dispatch can determine the appropriate flatbed. If the shipment falls outside Y2K’s fleet capabilities, our freight-brokerage department can help coordinate additional equipment.

Are tarping, curtain-side and China-top options available?

Yes. Tarping is available upon request, and curtain-side or China-top units can provide additional protection for freight requiring covered transportation.

Customers should request these options when booking because equipment availability depends on the shipment, timing and destination.

Can Y2K coordinate loading and unloading with cranes or forklifts?

Yes. Y2K can coordinate flatbed loading and unloading with forklifts or cranes at the pickup and delivery locations. Flatbed trucks allow side, rear and top-loading access, depending on site conditions and the selected equipment.

When lifting or precise freight placement is required, Y2K can also coordinate the shipment with its crane-truck and HIAB services.

Does Y2K provide flatbed transportation to and from ports?

Yes. Y2K transports non-containerized freight to and from ports and terminal facilities. Port Pass-certified service is available upon request when required for site access.

Y2K is not container-certified and does not directly provide container drayage. If your shipment involves a container or requires different equipment, contact dispatch to determine whether a suitable option can be coordinated through Y2K’s freight-brokerage network.

Does Y2K offer dangerous-goods, weekend and emergency after-hours service?

Yes. Dangerous-goods-certified flatbed service, weekend transportation and emergency after-hours service are available upon request and subject to driver and equipment availability.

Customers must identify any dangerous goods and provide the required shipment information when requesting service. Advance booking is recommended, but urgent inquiries are always welcome.

What areas does Y2K’s flatbed trucking service cover?

Y2K provides flatbed trucking services across Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Delta, the Tri-Cities, Surrey, Langley, Maple Ridge, Abbotsford and Chilliwack.

Flatbed transportation to Whistler, Squamish, Hope, Vancouver Island, the Okanagan and other destinations throughout British Columbia may also be arranged. For longer-distance shipments within BC or across North America, ask about Y2K’s freight-brokerage network.
